| More than 2100 years ago, in a region we call today the Middle East, a handful of people came together and decided to form a community. They lived in the Qumran Caves and became known as the Essenes. Yasha J. Lavie has been channelling their consciousness since 1997. |

In the past month we have been working on the new website essenecollege.com. I was hoping that it would be up and running by now, but of course these things always take longer than you think. It’s close to completion though and will be there in the next two weeks. Our old website yashalavie.com will continue to be there as well.

I asked a few people who are studying at the college to write a few words for the new site. I was very moved by the way they express their experiences at the college and their gratitude to the Essene spirit and I’d like to share one of them here with you all:
“What an amazing experience the last two years have been for me. It’s hard to know where to start as Yasha has asked me to keep it short. It’s really impossible to explain in any detail the processes teachings and the transformation that has taken place. Never have I experienced such wisdom, compassion, humility and humour as demonstrated by the Essene spirit that Yasha channels. Their conversations are centred around real life day to day issues that are just so relevant to all of us.
They have shattered so many of my illusions about 'god' and love and what I thought the spiritual experience was really about. They tell us firstly to trust or own experiences and to only take on board that which rings true to us of what they talk about. Yet at times they push our buttons on a one to one basis in order to show us ways of being that don’t serve us well. Such wise teachers.
There is such a beautiful energy in the room that can only be experienced to be understood. A most inspiring journey that has impacted me in such a powerful way that I never will be the same again.

| An Essene Story |

Late one night eight young Essene men were walking outside the Caves. It was very dark in the desert and their teacher guided them into one of the smaller caves that they didn’t use very often. It was nearly completely hidden, and they used it only for special occasions. Once they had all climbed through the narrow crack that was the entrance, the teacher asked them to sit down and wait.
After they had been there for an hour or maybe more – time was somehow different there - another man entered. He was one of them, but it was so dark that they found it hard to recognise him at first. They all noticed though how there was an unusual light shining from his eyes. He stood close to the teacher and waited. The vibrations in the cave had become uncommonly strong, nearly overpowering, and possibly he had to adjust to it, like all of them.
Then he started to speak: “Yesterday, he said, I visited a family in one of our communities. A young woman was very sick and her parents, husband and children had asked if I could heal her. As soon as I entered the house a deep sadness came over me and I felt a strong pain in my chest. I knelt down next to the woman who was lying on the bed and held her hand. I knew that it wouldn't be long before she was going to die. Is there anything you’d like to say? I asked her. Slowly she opened her eyes and smiled at me. I’ve been wanting to meet you all my life, she said finally, I’m so glad that you’re here. I’m ready to go now, you’ve given me peace.”
I’m not sure what that pain in my chest was about, said the man, but the moment she passed away, it disappeared. I left the family and walked back through the night to meet you here, as the teacher had asked me. I’m not sure how to explain it, but it’s almost as if she has come with me and is looking at you right now. At that moment all the men understood the reason of the unusual brightness of Jesus’ eyes.
They weren’t just his eyes, but also those of the woman.
In the past twelve years I’ve witnessed many events from the life of Jesus, or, as they called him, “the son of man”. They take me to a different place within myself, a place where anything seems possible.

| Course on Mysticism |

On March 29, the first twelve people finished the two year course, in Auckland New Zealand. I’m very inspired that all the twelve will continue their study at the new course called Mysticism. Unil now, we have received very little information about the contents of the course, but I do know that we will learn about different types of meditation and how to be more in touch with our spirit guides. I believe that one of the most important things that we will practise is what the Essenes called transferring energy. It will be the first time that I will give such a course, and I’m both excited and a little nervous. But then I remind myself that I don’t need to be, because the Essenes are very experienced of course; they’ve done it many times.

MindBodySpirit Festival, Sydney
This week from Thursday till Sunday (April 30th till May 3rd) we have a stand for the Essene College at the festival. Yasha will give two talks on Thursday 30.4.09 and Saturday 2.5.09 both at 3.00 in the afternoon.
