More than 2100 years ago, in a region we call today the Middle East, a handful of people came together and decided to form a community. They lived in the Qumran Caves and became known as the Essenes. Yasha J. Lavie has been channelling their consciousness since 1997.

Our new website is now live. I would like to thank Suvidha Aurom, Anthony Winning and Karen Lavie for the designing, programming and writing.
You can read about the colleges, watch videos, and even look at the calendar and see where I am and when I am available for private sessions and evening talks.
The last thing that still needs to be done is our podcast, but within a few weeks, you will be able to listen to the evening talks through our website.
Please have a look at the photo gallery, it is so wonderful...

The Process of Letting Go

I’m not sure how many times I’ve heard the Essenes talk about the Process of Letting Go. Maybe thousands of times. It is such an important question that people ask again and again: what can I do in order to release fears within myself that block me and are causing me, what we call, problems?
The Essenes give us a system called the seven levels of acceptance. Level one is the level of complete resistance and Level seven the level of surrendering – of complete acceptance. I wouldn’t want to write to you all the 7 Levels of acceptance, in the context of this newsletter, as I would probably need many pages, but I would like to talk about something that the Essenes talk about often when talking about the Process of Letting Go.
When two people have a relationship they very often experience what we call relationship problems. I remember so well how, very often when the Essenes talk to couples about their relationship, they emphasise that it’s not the relationships that have problems. “The problem is the person, not the relationship”. I believe that that understanding this forms the beginning of the Process of Letting Go: the recognition that the problem is part of us, within our DNA, and not something to do with our interactions with the outside world. The process of accepting is a journey we travel in our mind. In other words, acceptance cannot be changed by any physical or emotional activity, although these can be helpful.
I would love to tell you more about it, but I know that this is not the right place. So really what is left for me, is to write it in a book, which I hope will be published next year.
Please if you have any questions about this process, do not hesitate to write to me.

Testimonial From a Student

I asked a few people who are studying at the college to write a few words for the new site. I was very moved by the way they express their experiences at the college and their gratitude to the Essene spirit and I’d like to share one of them here with you all:
“In 2006 I came across a brochure on the Essene Connection. I felt incredibly drawn to learning more. In 2007 I started the College of Essene Healing in Auckland.
Embarking on this new journey, I have found that the Philosophy of the Essenes has opened up a whole new way of being for me, giving me the tools to explore my purpose in life. I've become aware of certain limiting belief systems that keep me at times in a cycle of suffering. I’m learning how I can take my skills and abilities to contribute to myself and others.
I feel this experience has been a beautiful process of transforming me more into the beauty of 'who I really am'.”

Changes in the Sydney College

I would like to thanks Jess Thornton for her work for the Essene College. During her time studying with the Essenes, I asked Jess to help me build the foundations of a college in Sydney. Jess devoted her time, energy and heart to this project and I really think that without her the college would not be the same. From this month Angelica Walker will take over Jess' work at the Essene College.
The new phone number for all inquiries in Sydney is: 0416 157 737.
