Essene Newsletter

More than 2100 years ago, in a region we call today the Middle East, a handful of people came together and decided to form a community. They lived in the Qumran Caves and became known as the Essenes. Yasha J. Lavie has been channelling their consciousness since 1997.

Looking at 2011

It is the month of December, and the year 2011 will be finishing soon. It seems as an opportunity to look back at the year and to do maybe what one calls "soul-searching". The first thing that I notice, looking at the year, is how difficult it is to remember what has happened. Not only that, but to think about last year just seems impossible. Is it because my memory is poor? That's for sure one good reason for it. But I don't believe that that is the only one. One of the things that the Essenes have spoken about in the past few years, is the sense that they call The 7th Sense.

Everyone is very familiar with the 5 physical senses that we have. Most people are reasonably familiar with what we call, the 6th Sense or the 3rd eye, which is associated with intuition or psychic ability.

The 7th Sense, also called "the third ear", is placed in the middle of the brain, according to the Essenes. This sense gives us the ability to move to a place that has no perception of time and space. I believe that more and more people, at least the ones that I meet and see throughout my work, are using this sense in order to see life in a more spiritual and trustful way. This sense gives us less measurements, less judgements and more of the ability to be in a state of being. So I do believe that using the 7th sense does take away to some degree our memory, and leaves us with the space to be. Maybe in the next newsletter I will write to you a few things that relate to the 7th Sense, and the way that the Essenes used to teach the children in the caves how to develop it.

So when I look, with a very poor memory, on the year, there is one main thing that looks different within me, which I think also has influenced the way the Colleges are running. I feel that in the past 2 years, I have learned a new way to experience love. Not that I haven't experienced it before, but I haven't registered it to the degree that I can now. It is so hard for me now to say in words what is the difference, because I experience love now not as a thought, not as an emotion, and not as a physical sensation. I experience it now as a state of being, which causes me to feel a sense of emptiness.

I remember that about 14 years ago, spirit talked to me in one of the conversations that I had with them, about emptiness. Normally when they talked to me, they used to show me images and pictures. I remember so vividly the word emptiness and the picture of the desert full of hills and dunes, with the most beautiful yellow-white sand, and that sense of something that moves in the air, but it is invisible. I think in the last 2 years, or maybe longer, I have experienced a little bit more of that movement and I now call it love.

In recent classes, spirit used quite often the word "freedom" as an expression of love. They do not use the word emptiness, as the normal connotation of it does not bring people to the experience of love. And they said, very often, that when you are free, you experience love, and freedom from everything. So maybe I can say that when I look on this year, I feel a bit freer, or maybe I have less attachment to the things that are very important for me.

It is quite noticeable how the people in the Colleges are living from their heart more than before. I have no doubt about that. Freedom, after all, starts and ends up in the heart.

And just one last thing. Many people in the past few years have been talking a lot about the year 2012. There are "rumours" that global things will happen during next year. The Essenes have said through the years that as far as they can see, it is not the case, but I'm really looking forward to see and to experience the changes that will occur not in the world, and not on a global level, but in my own heart. And I do wish it to every human being, that will live his or her life next year.

Trip to the Qumran Caves

In the month of November, I have visited the Qumran Caves and it was a very beautiful experience to be again in this part of the world and in this place where the Essenes had their community. I am always struck by the amazing beauty of this landscape, where the rugged yellow mountains meet the smooth, glass-like Dead Sea. It is truly a place of inspiration.

During 2012, we are going to produce a short movie about the caves and about the Essenes, and I hope that that will be the beginning of a series of little movies that we are going to make about the material that I channel from the Essene brotherhood. That is one of the new things we will have from next year.

News from the Colleges

During November/December, I am having my first opportunity to go and be in all four Colleges one weekend after the other. Last weekend I was in Holland, speaking and being with the people in the Amsterdam College. This weekend we will start again the Perth College, meeting all those who would like to hear the Essenes there in Western Australia, and then the weekends in Sydney and Auckland will follow. It is a wonderful finale to the year, to be in each of the Colleges and to experience the beauty of the teaching and the people in each of these four cities.

Next year I'm planning to give the first seminar in England, with the idea of opening a College there, probably sometime in 2013. One of my main concerns about it is lack of weekends through the year. I've asked people if there is any way we will change our universal calendar from 52 weekends a year, to 70. Everyone smiled, agreed, liked the idea, but no one yet made a suggestion to the United Nations to change it.

One last thing

As in the past few months, I could probably feed a family with my phone bill, I have decided to change my phone to an Australian number as I will be more time in Australia through 2012 than other countries. The people in New Zealand can still call my existing number to make appointments, that is 021 629 169, and they will get through to either myself or my secretary when I am away.
